A record 565 million people are expected to be on the move during the National Day holiday, according to the country's transportation departments.

Dinosaur fossil
Chinese researchers have unearthed the fossil of a bird-like dinosaur with four wings in northeastern China that they suggest is a missing link in dinosaurs' evolution into birds.
They found the fossil of "Anchiornis huxleyi", which roamed the earth 160 million years ago, in China's northeast Liaoning province.
About the size of a chicken, the fossil has a length of less than 50 cm and a skull about 6 cm long, lead researcher Xing Xu at the Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing told Reuters.
Logistics innovation center
A Sino-Austrian logistics innovation and research center was unveiled at Beijing Jiaotong University over the weekend. Scholars from the university and Austria's Eurasia-Pacific Uninet will cooperate in logistics research and teaching through the center.
The center is expected to help strengthen China's research on logistics. Xu Shoubo, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said most logistics theories taught in China now are introduced from abroad, and China lacks a complete, innovative research system on logistics.
Bridge parts join
The Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge in Nanjing, being built for the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, joined two halves starting from both shores to successfully span the river yesterday.
At a length of 9,270 m, the bridge is reportedly the world's first high-speed rail bridge with six lines. Not only the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, but also the Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdu Railway and Nanjing Subway will use the bridge.
High-speed trains can run across the bridge at a speed of 300 kph, the fastest among similar bridges in the world.
