2014年5月24日上午，IEEE 电力电子学会(Power Electronics Society, PELS) 主席美国Northrop Grumman 航天技术资深经理Don Dan教授在IEEE PELS北京（中国 ）Chapter 主席清华大学赵争鸣教授陪同下来我校访问。北京电力电子学会副理事长、我院郑琼林教授和电力电子研究所部分老师接待了来访。
郑琼林教授向Don Dan主席简要介绍了我校基本情况特别是我院在电力电子与电力传动方面的研究成果、项目进展和未来发展方向，以及大功率电力电子技术的未来发展趋势进行了交流和讨论。Don Dan教授还参观了我校电力电子研究所正在开展的研究项目。
Don Dan教授对我校电力电子技术研究所取得的成果表示赞赏，他表示应通过IEEE电力电子学会这个平台，让国际同行更多地了解我们。他也鼓励我们更主动地走进国际学术界介绍我们的成果。
Prof. Don Dan, Chairman of IEEE Power Electronics Society, visited Beijing jiaotong University
On the morning of May 24, 2014, Don Dan, Chairman of IEEEPower Electronics Society (IEEE PELS), Senior Manager of Space Technology of Northrop Grumman Corporation, visited Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU). He was accompanied by ZHAO Zhengming, Chairman of Beijing Chapter of IEEE PELS, Professor of Tsinghua University.Trillion Q. Zheng, Deputy Director of Council of Beijing Power Electronics Society(BPES), Professor of School of Electrical Engineering, and some teachers from Institute of Power Electronics of our school were host to the visitors.
Prof. Trillion Q. Zhenggave Don Dan a brief introduction of BJTU, especiallyon the aspect of research achievements, progress of projects and future developmentaldirection of Power Electronics and Motor Drive of our school. In addition,they had a discussion about the future development of the technology oflarge power electronics. Prof. Don Dan also visited ongoing research programs that launched by Institute of Power Electronics.
Prof. Don Dan expressed his appreciation of accomplishments which achieved by Institute of Power Electronics. He said that our school should letinternational colleaguesknow more about us through the platform of IEEE Power Electronics Society. He also encouraged us to go into the international academic arena and introduced our achievementsby taking more active attitudes.
